Over the course more than 30 years of my career, I have designed over 50 public buildings, mostly synagogues.

For me, designing a synagogue is not only my work, but a challenge: I aim to draw as much inspiration as I can from Jewish tradition and literature, to create art that is original and unique, and which imparts the special connection to our Jewish heritage.

THE STUDIO

Studio Dekav is an exclusive studio which combines talent, experience, and knowledge.

The studio specializes in Judaica, from design to the final execution. The work is produced via a delicate mechanical process or by gentle handwork, to create a product that epitomizes art and décor, and which is functional and practical too, for private homes or public buildings.

Hi, my name is Zion Asoulin, artist and architect.

I studied at Bezalel Academy and graduated in art and architecture at École de Beaux-Arts, France.

I began my career in a small studio for theater and cinema sets. On my return to Israel, I opened my studio for architecture and Judaica in Jerusalem. I write poetry and enjoy biking and cooking.

I live in Jerusalem and am the father of four children. I believe that choosing the correct materials and tools is just as important as conceiving an exceptional idea.
